Hayden Telford is a Cairns‑born physiotherapist who is passionate about helping people return to meaningful movement and activity. He graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from James Cook University in 2022 and has been working at PhyxMe Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in Cairns ever since.
Hayden has a strong interest in both conservative and post‑operative rehabilitation, osteoarthritis management, occupational health, hydrotherapy, and complex rehabilitation presentations. He is a GLA:D® Australia certified clinician, delivering the evidence‑based GLA:D Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis Program within the clinic, supporting patients to build strength, confidence, and long‑term self‑management skills.
In addition to exercise‑based rehabilitation, Hayden utilises a range of treatment modalities including shockwave therapy and holding his GEMT Dry Needling qualification. He also has a keen interest in capacity building with NDIS participants, working collaboratively to help clients achieve functional goals and improve independence in everyday life.
Having grown up in Cairns, Hayden has a strong connection to the local community. He comes from a background in competitive swimming and continues to stay active through competitive water polo. He is also an active surf life saver; you may come across him at our beaches during the patrolling season.
Hayden values a hands‑on, evidence‑based, and patient‑centred approach, taking the time to understand each individual’s goals and tailoring treatment planning to support safe, sustainable outcomes – whether that’s returning to work, sport, or simply moving with confidence again.
